The Grundfos MQ makes it easy to select the right water booster pump. The MQ is an all-in-one unit with two models to choose from. There is no need to worry about a separate pressure tank, pressure switch, electrical connections, fittings or any other separate items. With MQ, it is literally a matter of connecting the power and turning on the pump. Installation of the pump is simple and can be done in a matter of minutes.
The Grundfos MQ features an easy-to-use control panel with indicator lights for indication of:
- pump on
- auto reset
- alarm (dry-running or overheating)
In the event of dry-run, the pump will stop and attempt to restart automatically. Restarting can also be done manually. If required, the auto reset function can be disabled as well.
EASY TO INSTALL
The pump is easy to install. The discharge connection can move up to 5° to fit existing pipework, and the compact design makes the pump easy to place even where space is limited.
** Please note that the maximum system pressure (incoming pressure + boost pressure) must not exceed 105 PSI, and the incoming pressure must not exceed 45 PSI. If your pressure is higher than 45 PSI, a pressure reducing valve (found above in Accessories) is required. Otherwise pump failure may occur due to over-pressurization. EASY TO OPERATE
Operating the MQ pump is simple and easy. The actual settings are clearly indicated by light-diodes on the user-friendly control panel. The M Q pump has a small built-in pressure tank to ensure that water is readily available from the tap. When water is required, the pump automatically starts and no loss of pressure will be felt. It also features a built-in check valve.
USER BENEFITS
"Whisper quiet operation," the MQ is specially designed for use in domestic applications where low noise is a major consideration. The pump is cooled by the pumped water which eliminated the need for a noisy cooling fan. Because the pump is self-cooling, you don’t need to have free space around the pump for cooling purposes. The MQ "anti-cycling" feature prevents the pump from continuously starting and stopping when you have a dripping tap, minor leak in the system, or ice maker.
PROTECTIVE FEATURES
The MQ pump has built-in dry-run protection. If the pump runs dry, the pump automatically stops. It will then attempt to restart every half hour for a maximum of 24 hours until water is available from the source. If more than 24 hours pass without water, the pump must be restarted manually. The auto reset function can also be disabled.
The pump also has built-in thermal protection. If the pump overheats it immediately stops. After a 30-minute cooling-down period, the pump will automatically restart.
The Grundfos MQ has an easy accessible priming plug for filling the pump with water before start. It also has a drain plug to prevent the pump from freezing.
