- Birm is a Granular filter media used for the removal of Iron and Manganese
- Oxygen Chamber System technology uses natural oxidation to remove Iron from the water supply, without chemicals, without aerators and without air compressors.
- Eliminate the need for harsh chemical cleaners in appliances, sinks, showers and toilets.
- A Patented air injection technology built into the control valve and a Check valve that keeps a pocket of pressurized air in the tank increase the capacity of the media to remove high levels of iron.
- When passing through the air pocket, the high levels of Iron get oxidized and are trapped to the bed. The bed is then backwashed rinsing the Iron down the drain.
- Birm acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen (D.O.) and the iron compounds. In ground waters, the dissolved iron is usually in the ferris bicarbonate state due to an excess of free carbon dioxide and is not filterable. Birm, acting as a catalyst between the oxygen and the soluble iron compounds, enhances the oxidation reaction of Fe++ to Fe+++ and produces ferric hydroxide which precipitates and my be easily filtered.
- Birm in not consumed in the iron removal and therefore offers a tremendous economic advantage over many other iron removal methods.
