Catalox is a specially formulated 20x40 Mesh size manganese dioxide possessing exceptionally high oxidative properties. It is a granular filtration media for iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide reduction. Oxygen Chamber System technology uses natural oxidation to remove Iron, Manganeseand Hydrogen Sulfide from the water supply, without chemicals, without aerators, without air compressors, without venturies or loss of pressure. A Patented air injection technology built into the control valve and a Check valve that keeps a pocket of pressurized air in the tank increase the capacity of the media to remove high levels of Iron, Manganeseand Hydrogen Sulfide. When passing through the air pocket, the high levels of Ironand Manganeseget oxidized and are trapped to the bed. The sulfide is converted to sulfur and precipitates as elemental sulfur. The bed is then backwashed rinsing them down the drain. You need no chemicals. Catalox functions as a catalyst, but itself remains relatively unchanged. and works on a principle whereby the hydrogen sulfide, iron and manganese are oxidized and trapped on the media while simple backwashing cleans the bed. No chemical regeneration is required, nothing is imparted into the drinking water and Catalox has a high capacity for low contaminant concentrations.
